Challenge

Healthycell had been in business for a few years, growing steadily, but knew if they wanted to gain a significant foothold in the crowded supplements market they needed to focus heavily on acquiring new customers at scale. When partnering up with Compound Digital 10 months ago Healthycell had no reliable, scalable growth channel, and were spending $5k/month on Facebook ads with a $60 CPA.

Solution

When we started working together, there were many issues with the ad account. The top performing ad had been rejected by Facebook for not following copywriting rules (which can be challenging in certain spaces, of which supplements is one). The targeting and testing was scattergun at best. There was no structure or logic to testing or scaling any growth levers (headlines, copy, creative, audiences, ad sets, budgeting etc). But there was a lot of opportunity in the account as Healthycell had a defendable unique value proposition in that their supplements came in a gel pack, and so with the right messaging, positioning and Facebook Ads scaling strategies Compound knew we could drive significant growth.
  • Set up of correct tracking, including conversion API, aggregated event measurement
  • Optimizing all campaigns for purchase conversions
  • ​Testing every product variation to determine Hero Products
  • ​Testing thousands of ad creatives, headlines, and copy variations
  • ​Using CBO budgeting to maximize cost efficiencies at scale
  • ​Simplified funnel structure - not separating prospecting and retargeting
  • ​Scaling best-performing AD IDs into the 100s of thousands of dollars of ad spend
  • Ruthlessly cutting all tests that didn’t meet our benchmarks
  • ​Improving conversion rates through landing page tests

Results

Compound Digital has scaled Healthycell’s monthly Facebook Ad spend from $5k/month to $120k/month in 8 months (continuing to scale at least 20% month-over-month) whilst maintaining a CPA below $70 (just $10 more than the CPA at $5k/month ad spend!). Having initially decrease CPA by 66% in the first 90 days, allowing us to scale fast and efficiently. As a result Healthycell’s annual sitewide revenue is up 27% year over year to just short of $4 million through end of September 2023, the bulk of which was driven by new customer purchases.
